With Auswärtiges Amt support, The International Organization for Migration (IOM) handed over an ambulance to the airport in Cox’s Bazar, which will be used to refer and transport suspected cases of COVID-19 from the airport to designated health facilities. The Mayor of Cox’s Bazar, Mujibur Rahman, DC representatives and IOM Bangladesh Chief of Mission, Giorgi Gigauri, were all present during the handover ceremony. As part of its continuous support to the airport in Cox’s Bazar, IOM also trained 130 airport staff, provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), installed thermal gates, convened regular coordination meetings, refurbished health screening infrastructures and built an isolation room.
